How to pick the right doll house!
So you want a buy a doll house, there are several doll house shops and many styles, and skill levels! But before you move a head with your doll house purchasing stuff, you should first check the differnt types of construction and styles used in manufacturing doll house. Second you need to know the reason you are purching the doll house? Will it be for show, or simply a playhouse for your children?

Generally the higher the cost of the doll house, better the materials used in consturction, results in a doll house to be enjoyed for years. Wooden doll house is a great option and are the best one for your child as far as safety is concerned. Wooden doll house, made of plywood, are excellent heirlooms to be passed from one generation to the next.

How to Paint your doll house!
There are endless ways to paint your doll house. You can paint your doll house using brush, spray can, or spong brush. One commonly asked question is where or not to paint any pieces of doll house before assembly. If you want to apply a sealer or primer coat to wood pieces before assembling them that is ok, but do not try to apply wallpaper before the doll house is assembled.
HOW TO:
- Priming and sealing: Always apply wood sealer on the walls of you doll house. The sealer will prevent wallpaper, paint being absorbed into the wood surface. This should be done before you start gluing the house together.

- Types of paint: Try to use semi-gloss latex or acrylic base paint for your doll house. This paint allows easy cleaning of the surface. You can clean the walls of the house with a damp clothe if painting with the mentioned paint. These paints come in a vaiety of colors!

- Choosing the color: Color scheme and combination is a real hard task for many people. Look in magazine, consult with friends, or let you child pick out their favorite colors!

- Brushes: Brushes are important just the your paints. Always prefer the best quality brushes that don't leave bristles inyou finish. We recommend white artistic brushes with flat cut.
Tips:
- Apply Wood sealer.
- If windows and doors can't be removed ,be sure to cover them when usinga spray sealer.
- Use a semi-gloss latex or acrylic base paint
- Work with good quality brushes
- Sand all rough areas before you begin to paint.
- Use an emery board to sand small areas or components.
How to Wallpaper your doll house or roombox
Wallpapering you dollhouse or roombox can be intimidating until you try it! Always buy one or two extra sheets of wallpaper, just in case!
Here's How:
- Lightly sand or prime the walls, so that they are smooth.
- cut wallpaper to size using an x-acto knife with #11 blade, and a metal cork-backed ruler. When using a paper with a distinct pattern, be sure to match the pattern.
- Apply wallpaper paste or YES! paste to paper using soft foam brush. Use straight and even strokes.
- Wipe your hands with a damp cloth and then apply the paper to the wall. Start with the top left hand corner and smooth the paper into place with your hand or a soft rounded piece of plastic like an old credit card. Press gently at first to get the paper into position and then harder to smooth it onto the wall. Work in one direction to get any air bubbles out.
- Trim any door or window openings with a sharp x-acto knife.
Tips:
- The biggest mistake people make is not using enough glue. Dry spots of paper make bubbles on the wall.
- Some miniaturist apply paste to the walls, but we prefer to apply to the paper to avoid dry spots.
- If you wall paer is not vinyl coated, then spray with matte sealer. ( Art supply store carries matte sealer for artists use to seal pastels or chalk artwork)
- Always use a sharp x-acto blade.
- If you are nervous cut posterboard to size first. Then wallpaper to the posterboard and glue the posterboard to the wall using Tacky glue.
